There is finally a new version for the great YouTube client “MobiTubia” developed by my friend Sittiphol Phanvilai. He has just released v1.80 Build 2 in the donator forum of the official “MobiTubia” page.
3rd party applications which can access YouTube content like “MobiTubia” and “emTube” are still the first choice for nearly all Symbian users, because viewing through the Flash Lite 3 supporting browser which the N82, N95 and N95 8GB is still very uncomfortable without a full screen mode and a very slowly working browser.
However, “MobiTubia” seems to be the only working application at the moment. It has become silent around the “emTube” development, the page is still left with “coming soon” message. And “emTube” needs an update, because YouTube changed its system again and no client worked.
Sittiphol however reacted fast and released “MobiTubia v1.80 Build 2″ which is not only adapted to the new system, but brings also some new features and a reworked UI.
MobiTubia v1.80 Build 2:
After installing the new version, you will discover the new icon of “MobiTubia”, …
… as well as the new splash screen.
Also the “About” and “Exit” icons have been renewed. If you are a user of previous versions, you will have also noticed that Sittiphol has also changed the font a little bit. These steps have all been made to make “MobiTubia” compatible with high resolution displays like the ones from the N80 and E90 by using vector images.
And it’s the same thing with the “Popular Clips” icon stored in the YouTube submenu.
Now let’s come to the interesting part of the new version, the new features.
A thing I really like about “emTube” where the sorting options it has and which are now finally also part of “MobiTubia”.
You can sort the videos by “Relevance”, the date the video has been “Published”, its “View Count” or its “Rating”.
The second and in my opinion very well chosen new feature is the possibility to “Send” saved videos. You can share your newest YouTube clip with your friends via the Bluetooth or Infrared. Don’t be irritated by the “Post to web” option, it won’t work an exists because of programming reasons.
Also Sittiphol changed the whole video playback system again which delivers the best YouTube experience every had with “MobiTubia”.

Another very nice update of Sittiphol with useful new features. “MobiTubia” is a must have application for everybody who loves watching videos on his mobile handset. Especially now that it is the only working solution as long as “emTube” isn’t updated.
